Saying Goodbye

Hi, friends. Just popping in to let you know where I've been all week. I caught a 6 a.m. flight Sunday morning to fly home to Detroit to see my Grandma Bertie (my mom's mom). All of our family came in, as my Gram's health had started to deteriorate quickly. I am so grateful I was able to get there Sunday morning. I spent the day laying with her, holding her hand, and kissing her, and she passed not long after I arrived. My heart is sad, but I am so glad I was able to be with her and my whole family to say good-bye. She had a spunky spirit and showered me with love. I miss her, but I know with all my heart that it was her time.

Here's a photo of me, my grandma Bertie, and my grandpa Jack. They are now together, and that makes me happy.

Love to you and your families,

xoxo

  7. Reading this reminds me so much of how it was when my grandmother passed away 2 years ago. Though it hurts it really is beautiful that you were able to be there by her side with your family. She looks and sounds like such a sweetheart - much like you! You are on my heart lady - again so so very sorry for your loss. Keeping you close in my thoughts :-) <3 Marisa

  8. I'm so sorry about your Grandma! So lovely that you were able to spend some time close to her at the end. That's what worries me about living in Georgia, with my Grammy and Grandpa in Massachusetts. Your words were really touching and inspirational and I hope your uplifting attitude abides. Many hugs!
